My Art at the Bijou and Upcoming Exhibits

Hi to all!
Yes, four of my paintings are up at the Bijou Theatre, Wonderland of the Americas Mall at the corner of Loop 410 and Fredericksburg Rd.  They will be on display through April 29th.  The painting titled "Magnolia" has sold and will be replaced with another painting.  This painting is one of my left-handed paintings.  There are two others that were painted with the left hand.  Let's see if you can figure out which ones.

"Dance of the Cactus Flowers" received 2nd in Show at the 2012 Texas Pastel Society National Juried Show.  I called it "Dance..." because as I looked at it my eyes were jumping from one flower to the next and it reminded me of a dance.

"Steer Among Us" came about after a visit to the Texas Folklife Festival.  A cowboy was riding this steer through the crowd! A surprise to some, ho-hum to others.

"Country Glory" is a wonderful scene just outside Helotes, Texas on the road to Medina.  I was going out to do some plein air painting at a friend's ranch in Medina and the trees had this glorious red-orange color.  If you're from that area you'll know what I mean.

Another event I will be a part of is at the San Antonio Garden Center on April 13-14. Some of my art will be up and I will be doing a pastel demo on both days. The center is located at the corner of Funston and N.New Braunfels.  Stroll through the garden show and watch me paint!

If you want to purchase one of my paintings, I can now take credit cards!  Just email me and we can even do it over the phone.

I'll be one of four artists at the 33rd Home and Garden Show being held at the Alamodome February 22-24.  Look for me at booth #205.  My art will be up and for sale at very reasonable prices.  I'll also be doing pastel painting demos throughout the 3 day event.  See www.showtechnology.com for discount coupons and hours.  This is a very large event with lots to see, so come on down!

Candlelight Cafe Exhibit

Five of my paintings are on exhibit and for sale at the Candlelight Cafe, 3011 N. St. Mary's St. in SA.  I know this news is a bit late but you still have time to go enjoy some coffee or wine at the lovely Candlelight and enjoy beautiful pastel art.  Show is up for one more week through the end of  February.  Eight artists participated so you can enjoy seeing the different techniques in pastel painting.

Solo Exhibition of Past and Present Works

Greetings!
My solo exhibition is up at the Great  Northwest Library, Wellwood at Grissom.  It will run through June with a "Meet the Artist" session on Saturday, June 16th, from 10:30a.m. - 12 noon in the meeting room.  I will be happy to answer questions on what inspired me to paint a certain painting, technique, or just simply watch me paint with pastels.  I have 20 paintings up, reflecting my progress through the years.  It's very interesting as I can see the change in my painting technique and you might find interesting, too.

Recently I overworked my right wrist with yardwork, garden projects, painting, and have to use a brace, which means I have to give it a rest.  What to do?  Paint with your left hand!  I will demonstrate both at the demo since I can't use my right hand too much.  When I started painting with my left, it's like there was another artist inside, well, you'll see my left-handed paintings at the library.  Look for Garden Tots, Steer Among Us, and Old Magnolia. The whole left-handed thing has really inspired me!
